Review Questions that help you determine when to enlist help

  1. Has there been a recent emotional, physical or medical crisis?
  2. Does the individual bathe less often, or not at all?
  3. Is clothing being changed daily?
  4. Are pills left over or running out too soon?
  5. Does the individual need help walking?
  6. Is he/she becoming more forgetful?
  7. Have there been recent falls?
  8. Is your loved one having problems sleeping?
  9. Has he/she lost interest in eating?
  10. Is his/her hearing or vision affecting the ability to function?
  11. Is your loved one able to do errands alone?
  12. Is your loved one content to just sit in a chair?
  13. Is there less participation in conversations?
  14. Are there scorch marks on the pot holders or dish towels?
  15. Are there signs of burnt pans on the stove?
  16. Is routine house cleaning not being done?
  17. Have social activities stopped or diminished?
